What to Expect in 5th Grade

This year students will be expected to demonstrate responsibility characteristics. Here are some ways you can help your child prepare for a productive day of learning.

• A good night's rest and healthy breakfast will provide them with the energy they need for a productive day of learning.
• Encourage students to come to class prepared to learn. They should have completed homework assignments and materials.
• Ask students about our classroom routine and procedures. This will help remind them of the routine we established the first week of school.
• We will be doing more online research for projects this year. Together we can teach students the value of finding information online while keeping them safe. A great tool we will be using in class is www.cyberwise.org. I encourage you to keep the digital citizenship conversation going at home.
